Sol Fleischman graduates magna cum laude from the University of Florida College of Architecture and joins the Tampa architecture firm of Rowe-Paras where he meets Cuban refugee and architect, Eddy Garcia, an associate principal of the firm
Sol Fleischman and Eddy Garcia leave Rowe-Paras to form the firm of Eduardo Garcia, Architect, as Sol was not yet registered. They worked out of Eddy’s home and Sol’s apartment.
Fleischman and Garcia Architects & Planners A.I.A. P.A. was established in a second floor, one bedroom apartment at 1718 1/2 Watrous Avenue in Old Hyde Park. The monthly rent was $50.00 and they had to share the small apartment with an interior designer’s practice.
The firm moved to a 1,500 s.f. in a 2-story, contemporary office building at the corner of Henderson Blvd. and Azeele St. in the Palma Ceia area of Tampa.
Eddy Garcia suddenly passes away from a cerebral hemorrhage at 46 years old. To honor his contributions to the firm and legacy, the FleischmanGarcia was kept.
The firm returns to Old Hyde Park into a new, 2-story brick building co-developed and designed by Sol Fleischman at 324 Hyde Park Avenue.
Our first branch office was opened on Main Street in Safety Harbor, Pinellas County.
The firm celebrates 25 years of practice.
Our second branch office was opened on Cattlemen Lane in Sarasota.
In November of 2020, FleischmanGarcia and BDG Architects announced our strategic partnership. Together we are stronger!
